The Punjab health department has confirmed that two PIA pilots have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The pilots arrived in Lahore from Toronto on Saturday. They were among five people stuck in Toronto for the past few days, according to the health department.
They have both been admitted to the isolation ward at a private hospital, said officials.
Punjab’s known coronavirus tally has crossed 1,380 and Pakistan’s tally is at 3,110.
PIA recently sent two special flights to Toronto from Karachi and Lahore at the request of the Canadian government.
On Sunday, PIA grounded flights from Karachi on the suspicion that four pilots who had arrived from London had contracted the virus. However, they all tested negative.
