FRANTIC wildlife rescuers were trying to save a handful of stranded whales today as a perfect storm littered beaches with dozens of the dying creatures. Volunteers worked in the surf to try and keep the last 15 whales alive after a raging tropical cyclone and age-old migrating patterns caused the natural disaster.
