A woman protesting outside the KPC on Friday alleged Sukkar police had detained her son at the behest of some influential people. Asghari Begum, a resident of Lahore, told media persons that her son Waqas Ahmed solemised nikah with a resident of Sukkur in April. A few days ago, she said, the girl’s family called her son to Sukkur for rukhsati, but when Ahmed with jewellery and clothes arrived in Sukkur, the girl’s family snatched the valuables from him and get arrested him in a fake case at the B-Section police station.
