Two labourers crushed to death in roof collapse

Two labourers were crushed to death while they were demolishing the roof of a multi-storey building in North Nazimabad on Thursday.The incident took place within the remits of the Rizvia police station where the labourers were busy in demolishing the old building when suddenly the roof of the building collapsed on them.Responding to the information, rescuers from different welfare organisations and police reached the scene and retrieved the workers who were trapped under the debris. They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where they breathed their last. They were identified as 30-year-old Asif, son of Ashiq, and 18-year-old Hasnain, son of Nawaz.Police said that they were looking for the victims’ families and a case would be registered when their families would approach police to register the case against the contractor for not providing them adequate safety gadgets.
