Drastic environmental targets backed by Labour will lead to meat rationing, petrol cars being seized and industries shut down, it was claimed. Unions turned on the party after it voted in favour of targets wiping out carbon emissions by 2030. Neil Derrick from the GMB union was booed as he warned party there was "no credible plan” for meeting the radical measure.
