The Rangers on Sunday claimed to have solved the murder of a man whose body was found at a graveyard on February 21.According to a spokesperson for the paramilitary force, the body of a man, who was later identified as Rab Nawaz, was found from the graveyard in Afridi Colony on February 21. He had been shot once in his head.Following the body’s discovery, the spokesperson said, a special team of Rangers personnel was formed to investigate the case, which eventually carried out an intelligence-based raid in the Madina Colony area and arrested two suspects for their involvement in the murder.The suspects were identified as Sher Khan, alias Sheikhu, and Zahir Hussain. The slain man was a brother-in-law of one of the arrested suspects, Khan, the spokesperson said, adding that Nawaz had forcibly married Khan’s sister after kidnapping her.The spokesperson claimed that Khan with the help of his friend killed Nawaz at a graveyard in Baldia Town to avenge his sister’s abduction, adding that the suspects were also involved in various cases of murder, attempt to murder and police encounters. The paramilitary force claimed to have seized arms and ammunition from the suspects’ possession. The suspects were later handed over to the police to initiate legal proceedings.Two MQM-London workers heldThe Rangers also claimed to have arrested two suspects during a raid conducted on a tip-off in the Clifton neighbourhood.The arrested suspects included Kamranuddin, alias Langra, and Syed Rashid Ali, who, according to the Rangers spokesperson, were affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London and involved in various cases of street crime and robberies.In another raid in the Model Colony area, the Rangers arrested three more suspects who were identified as Masabur Rehman, Mehtab and Asad Ali. The paramilitary force also found arms and ammunition on them. The suspects were later handed over to the police.
